Finding a Therapist
If you have come to this website, it may be that you are looking for help in dealing with something that you are struggling with in your life. Deciding to seek out help and finding a counselor can sometimes feel like a daunting task, especially if you don’t feel good. The best way to find a counselor is to get a referral from someone you know and trust (friend, family member, minister, doctor, etc). You can also call your health insurance company or search the Internet. However you find a counselor, use that first phone call or email and session to see if you feel comfortable with that person and to review how they would view your working together. A good fit with the counselor is essential to the therapy process.
About me
Susan Dellutri - LCSW, LMFT, CSAC
Hello. My name is Susan Dellutri. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC). I am also an AAMFT Approved Supervisor for Marriage and Family Therapists and Social Workers.
Since 1989, I have worked to help individuals, couples, LGBTQ and families struggling with issues of anxiety, depression, addictions, trauma, grief, ADHD, eating disorders, relationship and career issues. For the most part, I view a persons struggles within the context of their life story and current situation.
I actively work with them to heal, create solutions, adaptations, or take new directions to resolve issues. Within this framework, I will use techniques from various therapy and non-therapy modalities to help them achieve their goals.
I have both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in clinical Social Work from Aurora University. I have also studied and worked extensively in the fields of Addictions counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, and trauma treatment using Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experience, and mindfulness practices.
Supervision of Clinical Practice
You may have come to this website looking for a supervisor for your clinical social work or marriage and family therapy practice. From 1998-2009, I served as a post graduate instructor and clinical supervisor at the Family Therapy Training Institute of Milwaukee. I often supervise therapists using the modality that they are wanting to learn and use with their clients. This gives the supervisee a more well rounded experiential learning and understanding of the method. I supervise MFT, MSW and LPC students and post graduate therapists working towards licensure as well as offering clinical consultations for licensed therapist.
